Backstage photos from the set of the 2010 Anarchy Al Fresco editorial for Flaunt Magazine

‘Back in 2010 me and Lorenzo Marcucci shot our first editorial together for Flaunt, we had a fantastic casting with some amazing new faces and rising stars, but not that many clothes. I think not every brand I asked gave us looks and we didn’t originally plan to shoot so many guys, so I ended up deconstructing full looks so I could use the top on one guy and the pants on another, mixing them with my own stuff and bits and pieces from designer friends I loved the boys we were going to shoot so much I decided to create a sort of parallel editorial only using the black clothes we had, shooting while I changed the boys for their next look, in front of a white wall in the studio. I think originally I was going to use the photos for Flamboyant, our online magazine, but I ended up giving them to The Fashionisto, with the title Boys On Sale, because by then the season was over and the clothes were on the sales rack… I remember I kind of over processed the images at the time, so when I found the original images a few days ago I decided to keep them a bit more raw, and closer to the way I shot them. ‘ Riccardo Slavik
