It’s 2022, and apparently we still need to stress how vital Pride events are in a world where a global network of right wing Christo Fascists financed by illiberal millionaires are doing their best to gain minority rule and send largely more liberal countries back a century or so to what their twisted interpretation of fictional ( and rewritten) old texts tell them some sort of racially pure and authoritarian Ideal Past is… We still need to repeat that women’s rights are human rights, as are queer, trans and minority rights. Yet again we need to repeat that when Ur Fascists like Giorgia Meloni talk about freedom of speech and ideas it’s only to defend THEIR freedom to spew hateful and racist speech, THEIR freedom to push their Fascist ideologies without incurring in repercussions, when they lament Cancel Culture they only malign the habit of holding people accountable for their hateful and racist speech… when they say ‘ You cant say anything anymore’ they mean ‘ You can’t say anything racist or hateful without being held responsible and accountable for it’. It’s 2022 and there are people out there using fake news and fake faith to make sure people like us don’t have the same rights as everybody else, and possibly take away a few more. Never think they will stop at somebody else’s rights, they won’t.

Always remember this: the first Pride was a Riot, this year’s Pride was intense but joyful, yet we might have to turn it back into a riot a lot sooner than you think.
